System E Battery Garage

This System E battery garage uses a completely different approach in it’s construction. The front posts are sunk into the concrete base as upposed to being stood on it. This system is hard to repair. When the posts sheer, as shown in the photograph, there is only the stitched nature of the whole structure to hold the building together. As soon as any one of the links breaks then the post will fall or slide forward and all the internal panels behind that post will collapse in a pile on the ground. In attempting to refurbish these units people have tried to cut the posts off at ground level, drill that part of the post still in the ground and try to fix a new post into the old stub. In practice this doesn’t work. Heights don’t match and neither do angles.

Cracked System E Battery Garage Post

Problems with this type of garage consist of cracking front posts with the detatchment of the front section of the post that creates a downpipe when in place (see part on ground). In this example only one remains in place in the entire block and water from the roof just runs down the front of the building.

Here we see disintergrating lintels with sections falling.

Although this System E battery garage differs from System L it is one of the few remaining post and panel type garages still in use. Therefore we are creating a new solution to the refurbishment of this type using our System LX components. Ask our sales department on 0800 316 6390 for further details.
